During Conclave 2026 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, members of the OMSDT Knights Templar arrived at Casa Familia on October 11th, a shelter serving women and children in need, with a shared purpose: to make a difference through Christian charity and service.
With willing hearts and helping hands, our brothers and sisters came prepared to serve in whatever capacity was needed, offering their time, labor, and support to assist the shelter and those it serves. Putting faith into action.
Upon arriving at Casa Familia, Grand Master Rick Trujillo and Grand Prior Derek Nordio met with Shannon Milligan, Program Manager at the shelter. Shannon was delighted to welcome them, and happy to meet Grand Prior Derek, whom she had previously spoken with over the phone while coordinating the charity service project.
Together, they formulated a plan to address the shelter's immediate needs and divided OMSDT members into four working groups. Each team was assigned a specific area: outdoor grounds maintenance, patio cleanup, clothing organization, and kitchen and oven cleaning.
With a clear plan in place and everyone ready to lend a helping hand, our brothers and sisters set out to make a meaningful difference through teamwork, dedication, and Christian service.
